Barely four months to the end of this democratic dispensation, Deputy Senate President and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, (CFR) has warned banks, lending institutions or credit union against granting loan to the outing going administration of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

This warning which was contained in a statement endorsed by Omo-Agege and his party men, warned that any financial institution that advances money to the government of Delta state, with just four months to the end of its tenure, does so at it’s own peril.

“It has come to the knowledge of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and the general public that the Delta state government is yet again negotiating a loan facility of N40 billion (forty billion naira).

“It is our understanding that the need for such a facility has not been made public, neither has the purpose for which the credit is being sought.

“It is also to our knowledge that a bill seeking the approval for such a facility has not been presented before the House of Assembly and neither has approval been obtained,” Omo-Agege stated.

It was against this back drop that the APC Guber Aspirant and his party men alerted all financial institutions operating in Nigeria on the imminent dangers lurking around such unwarranted benevolence.

He noted in dismay that the state has already over borrowed, stating that the citizens would not accept the encumbrance and obligations of further borrowing.
