Emerging reports early Friday, suggest that four of the G-5 governors, a rebel faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have agreed to work for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.

Reports revealed Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state; Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, have all declared support for Tinubu.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, however, declared his support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

The G-5 governors made this resolution at a strategic meeting which held in London.

It was also learnt that the five governors met with Tinubu in London to finalise the deal.

Specifically, inside sources revealed that while Wike and Makinde had decided to work for the victory of Tinubu openly, Ortom reiterated his support for Obi.

However, Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi agreed to work for the APC presidential candidate quietly for fear of repercussions in the South-east.

The New Diplomat reports that the G-5 governors had vowed to work against the presidential candidate of their party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over alleged structural imbalance in the PDP.

The governors had called for the resignation of the National chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, on the premise that both the chairman and the presidential candidate of the party cannot come from the North.

Recall despite several negotiations and internal talks, the PDP stakeholders have not been able to reconcile the warring factions.
