The Labour Party has announced the appointement of a former Political Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Akin Osuntokun as the new Director-General of the Obi-Datti presidential campaign council.
This was announced by the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
The decision was reached after a strategic meeting of the party, which had its standard-bearer, Peter Obi, members of the National Working Committee and several 2023 candidates of Labour Party in attendance.
Abure in his remarks said the appointment of Osuntokun as the Campaign DG was widely accepted by party stakeholders across board.
The New Diplomat reports that Osuntokun will replace former DG of the Obi-Datti Campaign Organisation, Doyin Okupe, who announced his resignation in a letter last Tuesday following a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja that convicted him of violating the Money Laundering Act.
