Hours after reports broke out about the demise of Ifeanyi, the three-year-old son of popular Afrobeats star, David Adeleke aka Davido, the Lagos Police Command has confirmed the arrest of some of the domestic staff of the singer.

The command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, made this revelation while speaking with an online platform on Tuesday, disclosing that some of his domestic staff are already in the custody for questioning over alleged negligence.

“There’s not much to say. Some domestic staff were brought in for questioning to find out what they know about it. Anybody found culpable or guilty of negligence will stay back and assist in the ongoing investigation,” Hundeyin said.

Earlier, The New Diplomat had reported that Ifeanyi was reported to have drowned in a swimming pool at his residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State.

According to reports, the incident happened yesterday when Davido and Chioma were both out of their home for a family gathering in Ibadan. Ifeanyi was in the care of minders, it was reported. He was said to have wandered off to the pool where he drowned and remained inside the water for a long time before his absence in the house was even noticed.

However, Davido was yet to make any official statement regarding the tragic incident as of the time of this reporting.
