Peter Obi Meets With Ortom, Seeks Intervention For Flood Victims

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi on Wednesday met with Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

Obi while addressing journalists after the meeting at Ortom’s private residence said he came to discuss modalities on his upcoming visit to places affected by flood in the state.

He also called on his counterparts in other parties to suspend their campaigns and work on how to get an adequate intervention to help victims of floods across states of the federation.

In his words, “I came to inform the Governor of my intention to visit some of the affected areas and discussed how we, as presidential candidates can assist the affected states.

“I recall that in 2012, Benue, Anambra and other states were similarly affected and the Federal Government and Nigerians rallied in support of flood victims, especially the IDPs.”
