At 82, Evangelist Pa Tom Erhiawanrie Oborevwori has been installed as the eldest man (Okpako Uwamua) and leader of the Osubi Community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.  

 The event which took place at the Osubi Community Hall on Saturday July 1, 2017 was conducted purely in Christian manner by priests from the God’s Grace Ministry Inc. Worldwide based in Warri, Delta State.

 Pa. Oborevwori who is an uncle of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is an adherent of the God’s Grace Ministry, Worldwide and also an acknowledged Evangelist of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 It would be recalled that the installation activities of the eldest man of the community before now was conducted in a traditional manner.  However, in the case of Pa. Oborevwori, the entire ceremony was devoid of any tradition, as it was carried out by priests from the God’s Grace Ministry Inc. Worldwide.

 Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the installation ceremony, a chieftain of the PDP in the community, Hon. Blessing Oborevwori, who is a son of the octogenarian, thanked God for the occasion, adding that all glory goes to God almighty.

 Said he: “I feel very happy.  First of all, I give God the glory for making it possible for today to be a reality.  Today, my father has been installed as the most elderly person in Osubi community.  We give thanks and glory to God almighty.”

 Hon. Oborevwori said that one of the noble task of the eldest man, his father, is to lead the people of Osubi community to embrace God, have fear of God and live in harmony and peace and to ensure the community moves ahead.

 He also highlighted that the Eldest man has the responsibility organize the people and meet regularly to into the issue of peace and security and the overall development of the community.

 Oborevwori explained that the entire ceremony was carried out in a Christian manner because his father would not tolerate anything traditional.  

 “Of a truth, we are Christians.  I don’t think anything that has to do with tradition my father would have a hand in it.  That is why you saw that the whole activity of the installation today was Godly.”

 Highpoint of the occasion was the formal installation of Evangelist Pa. Tom Erhianwarien Oborevwori as the ‘Okpako Owanmuan’ of Osubi Community.

 Present at the occasion was the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Hon. Blessing Oborevwori, several palace chiefs from the palace of HRM Orhue I, Orodje of Okpe kingdom,  members of the God’s Grace Ministry, PDP stalwarts among others.
