President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, arrived in Imo State to inaugurate some projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma-led administration amid the sit-at-home order purportedly declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) in the region.

The President arrived at the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport at exactly 11 am on Tuesday and was received by Governor Uzodimma and other leaders of the state.

Buhari is expected to inaugurate the Owerri to Onu Road and other projects. He is also expected to visit stakeholders at the State House.

However, security at the inauguration venue and the state is said to be tight today.

The New Diplomat reports that IPOB had, at the weekend, declared Tuesday a day to observe sit-at-home in all parts of the Southeast, tagging the exercise a day of civil action.

It would be recalled that Buhari paid an official visit to the state on Thursday, September 9, 2021, where he launched projects and had talks with Igbo leaders.
