President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting held at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) chamber of the presidential villa at the federal capital territory (FCT).

The governors were led by the Chairman of the Progressives Governor, who is also the governor of Kebbi state, Abubakar Bagudu.

Others present at the meeting were Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, and Eric Igwe, deputy governor of Ebonyi.

While the details of the meeting were not disclosed as none of the governors was willing to speak with journalists, it came about four weeks to the commencement of presidential campaigns of the various political parties ahead of the 2023 polls.

The meeting is believed to be part of plans to perfect strategies to deliver the upcoming presidential polls for the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
