Again, some unidentified armed men have struck in Ondo state, abducting a traditional chief in Ikare Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State, High Chief Mukaila Bello.

It was gathered that the traditional head and three others were kidnapped by the gunmen at Agopanu axis, Owo-Ikare road, in Ondo State, Thursday evening.

The other victims are, former House of Assembly Candidate for Akoko North-East Constituency Yèyé Gbafinro; a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Adeniran Adeyemo and a community leader, Bashiru Adekile.

A source who spoke with the members of the press revealed that the victims were kidnapped along Ago Panu area of Owo-Ikare Expressway, while traveling from Akure to Ikare.

The driver of their vehicle was said to have been matcheted by the gunmen and he is now receiving treatment at Federal Medical centre, in owo.

The New Diplomat reports that Ondo state has been witnessing a surge in insecurity cases in recent times.

The attack comes after some gunmen had killed scores of church worshippers in Owo recently.

It would be recalled that the armed men entered St Francis Catholic church in the town of Owo and fired at the congregation during a service to mark the day of Pentecost.
