The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretary General, Muhammad Sanusi has revealed that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on a friendly match against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal in September.

Sanusi revealed this in an interview with newsmen recently.

The NFF will take advantage of the FIFA window to schedule the friendly match between the Super Eagles and Portugal after the 2023 AFCON qualifiers were postponed until March of the following year, Sanusi revealed.

Portugal will take on the Black Stars of Ghana in the group stage at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Although Nigeria and Portugal have never faced off in a senior match, Portugal defeated Nigeria three times in a row in the U-20 World Cup (twice in 1989 and 2013).
