Guinness Nigeria PLC has unveiled Tariye Gbadegesin as its non-executive director with effect from the 27th of July 2022.

The announcement was made known by Rotimi Odusola, Company Secretary/Corporate Relations Director in a disclosure on ‘Appointment of Mrs Tariye Gbadegesin as a non-executive director of Guinness Nigeria Plc’

The company in a notice at the Nigerian Exchange Limited described Gbadegesin as a professional with over 20 years of experience in finance, principal investments, and infrastructure.

The statement reads, “This is to inform the Nigerian exchange limited, the investing public and other stakeholders of the appointment of Mrs Tariye Gbadegesin as a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Guinness Nigeria Plc with effect from the 27th of July 2022.

“Mrs Gbadegesin is a professional with over 20 years of experience in finance, principal investments, and infrastructure. She has mobilized over us$3 billion of capital for infrastructure projects across the African continent.

“Her global experience includes roles at the Africa finance corporation, the International Monetary Fund, the Boston Consulting Group, & Price Waterhouse Coopers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Amherst College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

“The board is optimistic that the leadership of the company would be further strengthened through Mrs Gbadegesin’s invaluable experience and contributions.”

The New Diplomat reports that Gbadegesin is an investment professional with 20 years of experience in the financial services sector and over US$ 3 billion of transaction experience.

She was on the founding team to establish the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), a pan-African DFI with US$6 billion under management where she led several of AFC’s investments in the sectors of power, transport, industrial and telecommunications infrastructure.

She had also served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Main One Cable Company, a telecoms and data services company serving West Africa and Cabeolica Wind IPP in Cape Verde, the first commercial wind IPP in sub-Saharan Africa.

Gbadegesin has global experience from working at the International Monetary Fund, Boston Consulting Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
