The funeral ceremony for the matriarch of the Obaigbena family and Princess of Owa Kingdom in Delta State, Margaret Obaigbena, has been scheduled to hold between August 16 and 20, 2022.

Late Princess Margaret is the mother of Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of the THISDAY Media Group and ARISE News Channel, Prince Nduka Obaigbena.

In the programme of passage sighted by The New Diplomat, the funeral ceremony will kick-start on August 16, 2022 with a Commemorative birthday and Day of tribute programme. The event will hold in Owa-Oyibu, Delta state.

The Lying in state, Service of Songs, and Wake Keeping programmes were slated to hold on August 19, 2022.

The funeral ceremony and private burial will then hold on August 20, 2022 at the Obaigbena Family Compound, Owa-Oyibu, Delta State.

It would be recalled that the matriarch of Obaigbena family, Obaigbena yesterday passed on in June, 2021 at the age of 87 after a brief illness.

Late princess Obaigbena was adviser to three successive governments in Delta State due to her wealth of experience.

The demise of the matriarch was announced by the Royal family of Owa Kingdom led by the Obi of Owa Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Efeizomor.
