A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted an order disqualifing Sheriff Oborevwori as the governorship candidate of the Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2023 General elections.
The presiding judge, Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in his ruling also granted an order restraining Oborevwori from parading himself as the governorship candidate of the PDP.
Taiwo held that Oborevwori is not fit to be the PDP’s governorship candidate over discrepancies in his certificates.
The New Diplomat reports that the court order was sequel to a suit instituted by Moses Ogege and Timinepere Ogobiri of Ward 8 in Patani LGA before the Federal High Court, Abuja.
In the suit number marked FHC/ABJ/CS/715/2022 the plaintiffs had approached the court challenging the eligibility of Oborevwori over alleged discrepancies in the academic certificates presented to PDP and INEC.
