You Prevented National Calamity’, Omo-Agege Lauds Agbarho Burning Tanker Driver, Ejiro, Rewards Him With N1 Million.

More accolades and rewards continue to come the way of Ejiro Otarigho who, through his act of bravery and courage, drove a burning fuel tanker away from a densely populated area in Agbarho metropolitan town, in Ughelli North LGA, to a solitary area before it exploded.

It would be recalled that Ejiro the fuel tanker driver had just off-loaded in a filling station when a compartment of the fuel-laden tanker when he discovered a fire at the bottom of the truck.

With the full knowledge of the pending explosion of the inflammable product, Ejiro courageously pulled off the burning truck to a solitary area outside the town and escaped in record time before it exploded, thus saving the lives of people and property worth billions of naira.

As Nigerians from all walks of life continue to shower encomium of the heroic tanker driver, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege rewarded the brave driver, today, rewarded him with a personal donation of N1 million.

Agbarho, a community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, is in Delta Central Senatorial District, which Senator Omo-Agege represents at the National Assembly.

The Deputy President of the Senate who is representing Delta Central from where the brave driver emerged, described his courageous action as worthy of recognition.

The national lawmaker disclosed that the reward was his personal donation to appreciate him, and commended him for risking his life to save others.

Responding, Ejiro thanked the DSP for his kind donation, even as he used the opportunity to debunk media reports that he was not interested in national honour but in a new tanker.

His words: “I look forward to coming to Abuja for the national honour recommended for me to the President by the Senate. I wish to thank him again for moving the motion.”

It would be recalled that last week, the Senate resolved to honour Ejiro Otarigho for his heroic act.

The Red Chamber also recommended him to President Muhammadu Buhari for National Honours.

This followed a motion moved by the Deputy President of the Senate and co-sponsored by Senator James Manager (PDP, Delta South) and Senator Peter Nwaoboshi (APC, Delta North).
