President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, said, no matter what, this country shall never give in to evil and wicked people, noting that darkness will never overcome light and that Nigeria will eventually win.

Buhari, in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Sunday, condemned the heinous killing of worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo Kingdom, in Ondo State.

According to Buhari, only fiends from the nether region could have conceived and carried out such dastardly act, adding that eternal sorrow awaits them both on earth here, and ultimately in the hereafter.

The President while mourning the dead, condoled with their families, the Catholic Church, and the Government of Ondo State, charging emergency agencies to swing into action, and bring succor to the wounded.

It would be recalled that The New Diplomat in a video reported how unidentified armed men stormed St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State and murdered several worshippers on Sunday.

Many members of the congregation were said to have been shot and slaughtered. The exact number of people killed or injured still remains unknown as of press time.
