As the All-Progressives Congress, APC, concludes its primaries nationwide, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has said that there were no individual winners nor losers but a general victory for the party.
Omo-Agege stated this in a statement signed by Ima Niboro, Director, Communications and Media Strategy, Ovie Omo-Agege Campaign Organisation.
He congratulated those who emerged as the flagbearers of the party just as he, expressed confidence that they possess the capacity to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and any other party in the State in the 2023 general election.
The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District also used the occasion to congratulate other APC candidates in other federal constituencies and state assembly seats across the country.
The concluded APC Primaries, Omo-Agege noted, was a total victory for the party, adding that apart from the fact that it symbolizes the sign of further victories, it aptly demonstrated the party’s capacity to galvanize its membership to achieve victory for the party.
“The outcome of the primaries will best be described as no victor no vanquished, as all the aspirants gave a good account of themselves and congratulated each other for a good contest,” he said.
The party primaries which started last week produced Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as the Delta State Governorship candidate, he emerged unopposed, same as Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as its Delta North Senatorial District candidate for the 2023 senatorial elections.
Other senatorial aspirants returned unopposed by the party are Chief Ede Dafinone and Chief Joel-Onowakpo Thomas for Delta Central and Delta South Senatorial Districts respectively.
This was even as Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive was elected the party’s candidate for Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency.
Omo-Agege however lauded the leadership of the party for ensuring the success of the primary election and for effectively mobilizing its members to participate fully in the electoral process.
