Football fans have continued to react after manager Jose Mourinho guided team As Roma to defeat Feyenoord 1-0 in Wednesday’s Europa Conference League Champions.
The Italian club becomes the competition’s inaugural winners, with the win being their first piece of European silverware in their history. It’s Mourinho’s first trophy since winning the Europa League with United in 2017.
Ex-Old Trafford defender Chris Smalling, who was also part of Mourinho’s United squad, was hailed for his dominant display in the game with former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham also getting a winner’s medal. An ecstatic Mourinho becomes the first manager to lift a European cup with four different clubs, and the first to win the Champions League, Europa LEague, UEFA Cup and Conference League.
Upon full-time, and winning fans have continued to react on the micro-blogging platform, Twitter as many commended Mourinho for his doggedness, pointing to his trophy bounce-back.
