The Lagos State Police Command has debunked reports suggesting that the lady captured on a viral video making love to a dog has died of an infection.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin made this clarification in a statement issued on Friday.

Hundeyin, in the statement, said the attention of the command was drawn to a report published by an online Newspaper, that Mirabel, the lady who was seen in a viral video having sex with a dog in the Lekki area of Lagos died of infection at a private hospital in Yaba, Lagos.

This according to the statement prompted the command to approach the newspaper and question the authenticity of the story, only to find out that it was fake.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Lagos State Police Command has been drawn to this publication which, dated May 10, 2022, and credited to one Kayode Ajiboye of Independent Newspapers.

“As this borders on an ongoing police investigation, the Command reached out to the author of this article for information that would help the police to conclude and close the investigation.

“Shockingly, however, the author claimed he could not verify the story but simply lifted it from an online blog.

“The author did not also credit the original source (plagiarism) of the news in consonance with simple ethics of journalism.

“He also made no attempt to fact-check the news, thereby making himself susceptible to the spreading of fake news, especially knowing how critical and sensitive the facts in the issue were.

“It is the duty of every Nigerian to support the police in an ongoing investigation, it is criminal to publish false information with the intent to mislead the public.

“It is equally criminal to subvert criminal investigation and obstruct police officers in the discharge of their duties.”

Recall that Mirabel has been in the news when the stories of young ladies having sex with dogs in Dubai and posh residences in Lagos for cash broke the internet.

Days after, the Nigerian police launched a manhunt for dog owners and ladies who sleep with dogs. Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, made this known on his Twitter handle last Thursday in Abuja.

Adejobi said dog owners would be punished and prosecuted upon their arrest. He also vowed that security agents would not relent until ladies seen having sex with dogs in viral TikTok videos were apprehended and made to face prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.
