What Tinubu, Osinbajo, Other Aspirants Discussed At Lagos Meeting [PHOTOS]

Southwestern political leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday met in Lagos state ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for May 30.

Presidential aspirants contesting under the platform of the APC were at the meeting convened by former governor of Ogun state, Segun Osoba and former governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande.

It was gathered that the meeting, which held behind closed doors at the Lagos House, Marina, was aimed at finding strategies to position the West in the right direction to produce the next Nigerian president.

Aspirants present at the meeting are; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; former governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Also present at the meeting were Speaker  House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Works and housing, Babatunde Fashola; Minister for interior, Rauf Aregbesola; National Secretary of the APC, Iyiola Omisore.

Others are former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Moses Adeyemo; and a former National Vice Chairman of the APC, South-West Zone, Chief Pius Akinyelure.

Akande while addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, said the meeting was convened to find a common ground following the surge in number of individuals aspiring for the office of the President of Nigeria.

According to him, the discussion was fruitful as everyone at the meeting agreed to remain unite.

He said, “We are united as we will ensure that the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will come to the South-west.

“We had a fruitful discussion. We also resolved that everybody should maintain absolute decorum because we are united.”
