The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun the screening process for its presidential aspirants for the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

According to reports, the main opposition party is currently holding the screening exercise at the Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja.

Recall that the PDP had announced the constitution of a screening committee saddled with the responsibility to access aspirants contesting for the 2023 presidential election under its platform.

The nine-member screening panel is chaired by former senate president, David Mark.

On Friday panel kickstarted the screening of those who had purchased and submitted the expression of interest and nomination forms to represent the party in the 2023 presidential election.

Some of the hopefuls that have been screened as of press time are; former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki, ex-senate president; Ayo Fayose, former governor of Ekiti, and Peter Obi, ex-governor of Anambra state.

Others are Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom; Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers; Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation Magazine and Anyim Pius Anyim, former senate president.
