The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, may have drummed support for one of the national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he described him as the best man to lead Nigeria in 2023.

The declaration by the Royal father is in contrary with the clamour by some individuals and groups that the next Presidency should be zoned to Southeast in a bid to ensure fairness and equity.

The Olu of Warri who spoke while playing host to the the Southwest Agenda For Asiwaju (SWAGA “23) and ‘Delta State for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (DESBAT’23’) in his palace, seems to have thrown his weight behind the two-time governor of Lagos state.

The eminent monarch said of all the aspirants vying for the highest seat in the land, Tinubu is the most qualified person to lead Nigeria in 2023.

The monach said that he is familiar with the curriculum vitae of Tinubu, saying: “He is a confirmed achiever in life and it is time for him to run for President. Delta State in general and Warri in particular is home for him.”

The Olu of Warri further wished Tinubu all the best in his presidential bid.

“Tinubu has been preparing for the presidency for a very long time and has touched many lives and I’m sure if he is given the mandate to lead, he will not disappoint the nation,” the monach added.

The New Diplomat reports that Tinubu has been consulting since early January, when he announced his intention to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The former governor has been meeting with various stakeholders across the country to solidfy his chances of attaining success in 2023.

He will slogging it out with Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Minister for transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha; among others who have declared interest to contest for president under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
