After 30 days of manhunt launched to arrest the alleged murderers of a bank agent named Awodiran Sunday (male) the Ogun State Police Command has arrested 8 suspects in connection with the incident.

The late Awodiran was murdered in cold blood on Sunday 14th of May 2017 when he closed from work and heading to his house.
The 38 years old indigene of Ekiti State was attacked by hoodlums at Lambe junction, Alausa Village in Ifo local government area of Ogun State at about 9:45 pm.
He was dispossessed of cash sum of #200,000 some recharge cards and ATM cards. After which he was stabbed to death.
According to the press release issued on Tuesday by the police public relation officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi: “The case was reported to the Police at Ajuwon Divisional headquarters and the DPO SP Kazeem Afolabi was given a matching order by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu to bring the perpetrator of the dastardly act to book by all means.
“In compliance with the CP’s order, the DPO and his men swung into action and their efforts led to the arrest of the suspects namely: Lukman Taiwo, 30yrs; Taiwo Babalola 29yrs; David Gbenga 25yrs; Wasiu Olaegbe, 24yrs; Ojo Aliu, 30yrs; Taofik Sulaimon, 24yrs; Jamiu Taiwo, 31yrs; and Igwe Ofosile.
“Toy gun and assorted charms were recovered from them. On interrogation, they all made confessional statements to the fact that they decided to kill the victim after robbing him of his money because they were all known to him.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered the transfer of the case to FSARS for discreet investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.
“He also appealed to members of the public to assist the police always by given them necessary information that will enhance the effective performance of their duty.” Oyeyemi added.
