The Lagos State Government, on Saturday announced its decision to seal Havillah Event Centre located in the Oniru area of the state.

The state government said the event centre was sealed because the clients who used the hall contravened public safety by distributing petrol as a souvenir.

Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement issued on Saturday said the attention of the government had been drawn to a viral video showing kegs of petrol being handed out as souvenirs at an event centre in Lagos.

The commissioner, in the statement described the act as dangerous as it could lead to destruction of lives and properties adding that the state government would probe the use of petrol as souvenir and will ensure that all parties involved face the wrath of the law.

“The safety of lives and property of Lagosians and visitors remain a top priority to government.

“We, therefore, advise that actions that can lead to loss of lives and property be avoided,’’ Omotoso said in the statement.
