An Osun State High Court on Thursday granted an order remanding the owner of Hilton Royal Hotel, Ile-Ife, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, alongside six others over there alleged connection with the death of a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke.
Adedoyin, alongside his six workers, Adedeji Adesola, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem and Adebayo Kunle are facing trial before the Osun high court on 11-count charge bordering on murder, indecent interference with a dead body, administration of extrajudicial oath and alteration to conceal evidence.
Legal counsel to Adedoyin, Mr K. Eleja, SAN, had filed an application demanding for the bail of his client on the grounds that he has sureties required to ensure they do not jump bail.
Adegoke also urged the court to grant a short adjournment to allow him to file a bail application for the seventh defendant, Adesola Adedeji, who was newly included as a defendant in the matter after the charge was amended 24 hours ago.
Chief Judge Adepele Oyebola-Ojo in his ruling granted the application for adjournment to allow the seventh defendant to be added to the bail application.
The presiding judge also ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa correctional custody till Friday, March 4, 2022, when the matter will be revisited.
