Scores of Russian troops and tanks have been sighted in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
It was gathered that the Russians have forced their way into Kyiv, a city home to about 2.8 million people. The development comes 24 hours after the Russians launched a special military operation in Ukraine.
According to reports, sirens were heard across Kyiv since the early hours of Friday, with residents forced to take shelter in underground metro stations amid tension that the Russian could launch another aerial attacks.
Meanwhile, Ukraine president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to the country’s armed forces to hold their ground as Russian forces continue to press ahead with their invasion.
“I want to say to our troops – hold your ground, you are all that we have,” the Ukrainian president said.
