Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador Wilfred Gisuka Machage has passed away at the age of 65 years.

The Ambassador had suffered from a brief illness before his death. He was said to have collapsed and died yesterday at his residence in Abuja.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kenya, in a statement issued on Saturday has mourned the demise of Machage.

The Ministry expressed regret over the sudden death of Machage, describing his demise as a great loss to Kenya.

“Ambassador Machage collapsed at home and was pronounced dead at hospital shortly thereafter at around 12.30pm this afternoon in Abuja, Nigeria. His wife was with him when this unfortunate incident happened,” the Ministry said in the statement.

Born on 10th of August, 1956, Machage was appointed High Commissioner to Nigeria on January 27, 2018, by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
