The war of words between the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha and the sitting Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has continued unabated.

Okorocha, through his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, alleged on Friday that thousands of Imo youths have been killed under the administration of Hope Uzodimma.
This was in response to Uzodimma’s allegation that during Okorocha’s administration, he had ordered the killing of an 11-year-old boy during the demolition of Ekeukwu market.

According to the government, the blood of the boy killed when security agents stormed Ekeukwu market, Owerri on the orders of Okorocha, is seeking vengeance.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, in a statement said because the boy’s blood had not been appeased, it is now haunting Okorocha.

He said apart from the blood of Somtochukwu, the several unresolved assassinations that took place during the “eight years of despotic and nepotistic reign of Okorocha are seeking vengeance”.
Emelumba noted that since the police arrested Uche Nwosu in connection with the insecurity in Imo State, Okorocha has been disturbed.

However, Okorocha, in his response said Uzodimma’s allegation was one of the ways he wanted to justify the killing of youths in the state.

His words,
“… Uzodinma said that Okorocha ordered the killing of the 11-year old boy during the relocation of Ekeukwu market in Owerri. They failed to tell their audience what was the co-relation between the relocation of the Ekeukwu market and the death of the young lad. May his gentle soul continue to rest in the bosom of the LORD, Amen.

“Using the death of the innocent 11-year-old to justify the carnage or massacre in lmo, under Gov Uzodimma only showed the pitiable level to which government in lmo has degenerated.

“The government in lmo is just a counterfeit of what a state government should be. They have been trying to explain away or justify the mindless killing of lmo people under their government. Thousands of more people have lost their lives including vibrant and potential youths, men, women and traditional rulers in their thousands…” Okorocha said.
