The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu has announced that his command has arrested three students of Dowen College in Lagos over their alleged connection with the death of a 12-year-old student of the school, Sylvester Oromoni.

The CP announced that the three students are now in police custody and have been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

He explained that the three students were part of the five students named by Sylvester before he passed away.

He also added that the command is set to commence a post mortem on the remains of the 12-year-old student, adding that the police is determine to ensure that justice is served.

The death of Sylvester has drawn public outcry since December 1 when Perri, a family member of the deceased took to his twitter handle to raise alarm over the death of his cousin.

Perri had claimed that Sylvester was assaulted by some of his classmates who wanted to initiate him into cultism.

“This is my 12 years old cousin that was beaten to death at a school that cost over N1m. They tried to put him in a cult, he refused and they killed him. Secondary school o,” Perri said in series of tweets.

The Lagos State Government had  also ordered a closure of Dowen College pending the outcome of the investigation.
