All appears set for Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra governorship election to emerge as new helmsman in the state after he won 17 of the 19 Local Government Areas (LGAs) declared so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The New Diplomat had earlier reported that Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) stormed ahead of his rivals in the election since official declaration of results by INEC began early Sunday. He has continued to maintain his lead on the results chart.

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Andy Uba won 1 local government while the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Senator Ifeanyi Ubah also won 1 local government.

According to the INEC officers, no results were declared for Ihiala LGA as elections did not hold. Also, results were not declared for Orumba North LGA as party representatives contested the results.
