The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has disclosed that the sudden disappearance of the newly launched e-naira speed wallet from Google’s play store was only temporary.

CBN said the App is undergoing an important upgrade aimed at tackling glitches noticed since its launch.

This was explained on Thursday by Director of Corporate Communications of the bank, Osita Nwanisobi in Abakaliki, Ebonyi state, while speaking at CBN Fair for the southeast geo-political zone, which held simultaneously in Ebonyi and Abia States.

The e-Naira Speed Wallet app had gone missing from the Google Play Store 10 days after its launch on Monday, 25th of October 2021.

Nwanisobi who said the app is expected to be back today (Friday) after the upgrade, noted that the app is well secured as it relied on encryption technology with two factor verification to make it difficult to be bridged.

According to Nwanisobi, Nigerians are partly responsible for the glitches noticed which he said contributed to the temporary disappearance from the play store.

“Many Nigerians’ inability to input their correct details while signing up on the app contributed to the glitches,” he stated. — CBN
