Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Shuaibu Ibrahim, on Tuesday stated that corps members would be vaccinated in orientation camps henceforth.

The NYSC DG, who spoke through the Ekiti Coordinator, Mary Chikezie, made this known at the Permanent NYSC Orientation Camp, Emure-Ekiti, in Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The NYSC boss said this followed the federal government’s directive that only vaccinated civil servants would be allowed entry into public offices from December 1.

Ibrahim noted that such would also be applied to corps members in their primary places of assignments.

“NYSC is already in touch with relevant authorities with a view to ensuring that the vaccines are made available to you in the course of his programme.

“The move is to ensure safety against the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

“The corps members yet to be vaccinated should continue to comply with COVID-19 preventive protocols throughout the orientation period,” she added.
