Billions of people across the world have been plunged into social media blackout as three of the world’s most biggest platform suffered global breakdown on Monday.
WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are currently experiencing a major outage across the world.
It was gathered that users of the social media platforms have been unable to access their accounts since around 4:39 pm on Monday.
Checks also revealed that users of the social media platforms are currently unable to send or receive messages. Users have took to Twitter to report the global outage.
Facebook has also took to its official Twitter handle to confirm the situation. The firm noted that work is ongoing to resolve the issue.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Facebook app. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Facebook tweeted.
Also, WhatsApp, who took to its official twitter account said, “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.
“Thanks for your patience!”
