The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has announced decision to call off its 64-day industrial action.
The association announced that its members would resume work on Wednesday.
National President of NARD, Dr Godiya Ishaya who spoke with the members of the press said the decision to suspend the nation wide strike was reached after a thorough review of the progress the government had made on their demands.
He also said the association has given the Federal Government a six-week window to fulfil all its demands.
Recall that the NARD had embarked on a nation wide industrial action on August 2, 2021 over poor treatment and lack of infrastructural development.
The NARD had lamented the inability of the FG to meet some of their demands which include immediate salary payment to all house officers and an upward review of the current hazard allowance to 50 per cent of consolidated salaries of all health workers.
