Eleven serving and former Anambra lawmakers have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is coming days to the scheduled November 6 gubernatorial elections in Anambra state.
Among the lawmakers who switched allegiance to APC are five serving members of the House of Representatives, four former members of the House of Representatives, and two members of the Anambra state house of assembly.
The Governor of Yobe state and Chairman, APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, on Thursday received the lawmakers.
Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, were all present at the event to welcome the new members.
Speaking at the event, Buni congratulated the lawmakers for joining hands with the party to secure victory in the upcoming governorship polls.
He also assured the new members that they would enjoy all the rights and privileges of the APC.
The lawmakers also promised to work together to deliver success for the party in the forthcoming elections.
