Barely a week after the Kaduna state House of Assembly had its Majority Leader, Inuwa Muhammad impeached, Ahmed Muhammed Chokali representing Zaria Kewaye has been appointed as the new majority leader.

Announcing the development on Tuesday, the Speaker, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani said Bashir Idris Gatari representing Lere West constituency has also been appointed the new Chief Whip.

It would be recalled that the leadership of the House last week impeached Hon. Inuwa Muhammad popularly known as Mabo after a vote of no confidence passed on him.

In a related development, a bill to establish a women and youth skill acquisition and empowerment agency was presented before the house.

The bill which is a private member bill sponsored by Yusuf Salihu of Kawo Constituency is aimed at developing and nurturing women as well as youth into becoming economically independent persons.

Contributing to the debate, the only female member in the assembly, Comfort Amwe representing Sanga constituency argued that “if the bill is successfully passed into law, it will encourage women to support their homes”.
