Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu has expressed his displeasure over the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The Nigerian journalist who represented Ekiti Central in the Senate between 2011 – 2015 posted on Facebook hours after FFK met Buhari in the Aso Rock, marking his official defection to the ruling party. He noted that “this is the saddest day of my political career.”

Ojudu also shared a previous vow by FFK that he would never join APC, adding “I prefer to die than join APC”.

Recall the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) Caretaker Committee, Mai Mala Buni, presented Fani-Kayode to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.

The former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain claimed God ordained his defection, while speaking on why he joined APC, Thursday.

“A lot has changed over the last six years and it is important that we make the right choices and the right decisions at the right time, precisely we feel as if we are being led by God to make those choices. I make my choices I owe nobody any explanation or apology, other than my family members, and other than my God. I know that I’m doing the right thing,” Fani-Kayode claimed.
