The Super Eagles have arrived in Cape Verde Ahead of Tuesday’s Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Blue Sharks.
This was disclosed on the Super Eagles official Facebook page few hours ago.
The post read in part:
“We have arrived Cape Verde! However, we are currently at the Amilcar Cabral International Airport as we couldn’t land in Sao Vincente where the match will be played because the Cesária Évora Airport had closed.
“We’re still here and will take off from here soon. It’s just an hour flight. Thanks for your support always!“
The Eagles will hope to consolidate on their position as Group C leaders when they face the Blue Sharks.
Gernot Rohr side defeated Liberia 2-0 in their opening group game on Friday thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho’s first half brace.
Cape Verde were held to a 1-1 draw by Central African Republic in Douala, Cameroon.
