A staff of the National Wire, a Lagos based news website, Ayodele Ayobami has shockingly passed away at the age of 29 years.
Ayobami who served as the IT Manager of the National Wire lost his life in a ghastly accident that occurred on August 30 as a moving vehicle rammed into him at a Bustop along the Ikorodu road, Lagos State.
According to reports, he was rushed to the General hospital in Gbagada, Lagos State, but all medical care proved abortive as the IT guru breathed his last.
Ayobami, a trained Physiotherapist studied at the University of Lagos and had his housemanship at the Teaching Hospital, Abuja, the nation’s capital. However, he has a knack for multi-tasking on IT solutions and was a founding member of the online paper.
Speaking with The New Diplomat, Mr Dayo Emmanuel, the News Editor of National Wire described the demise of Ayobami as a big loss.
According to him, the IT Manager was a huge asset to the media outfit.
In his words, “He recently completed his Master programme and other professional courses in a UK university and was to start a new job in England this September.
“He had an offer to UK and he was already mobilised to fly this month.
“He’s my nephew, but he’s more like a son to me. He lived with me briefly while waiting for his housemanship posting. We’ve lost an excellent guy,” Emmanuel said in a grieving tone.
