Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial district in the Senate, Senator Stella Oduah has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oduah, who is also a former Aviation Minister under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan was admitted into APC on Thursday in Abuja.
The lawmaker was welcomed into the party by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, who is also the Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
Others present at the welcoming ceremony are Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; Chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum and Kebbi Governor, Atiku Bagudu; Imo Governor, Hope Uzodimma, among others.
This was also announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the National Director, Publicity of the APC, Salisu Dambatta, in Abuja and titled, ‘Senator Stella Oduah dumps PDP, joins APC’.
Oduah, in the statement disclosed that she decided to join the ruling APC in order to change the political narrative in the South East.
Buni, in his welcoming addres, congratulated the Oduah for joining the APC, assuring her of rights as all other members of the party.
“You will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver,” the statement quoted Buni as saying.
