Popular On-Air Personality, OAP, Daddy Freeze, and the founder of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, have criticised eminent Nigerian pastors for failing to attend the funeral rites of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Joshua, aka T.B. Joshua, which held on Friday.

The New Diplomat had reported that Joshua, who passed away on June 5, 2021 was buried amid an ocean of tears and tributes on Friday.

The renowned televangelist was committed to mother earth at the church-Synagogue’s premises.

However, popular Nigerian mega-pastors were noticeably absent at the week-long memorials organised in honour of the late televangelist.

Reacting, Freeze in a video he posted on his social media account criticised the pastors who were missing at the burial, saying that they failed to express the Christianity virtues which they are preaching.

The OAP expressed his disappointment in top pastors for failing to attend the burial or at least send a delegation to identify with the family of the deceased.

He stated that no matter what may have transpired among them when he was alive, they should have had a forgiven heart and attended his funeral.

In his words, “Prophet T.B Joshua has been laid to rest. May his soul rest in peace.

“However, the turnout of Christians especially top Nigerian pastors who attended this man’s funeral makes me worry.

“If we truly are Christians, every church should have sent a delegation.

“I must say I am so disappointed in all these pastors because they have not shown a legacy of love. So, none of them could fly their private jets and attend the funeral?

“If you ask me and you expect me to be honest, I am entirely disappointed in all the big daddies that we have.

“If they behave like this, how are we the children going to behave? You people have turned gods of men.

“I’m sure they don’t understand the gravity of their actions, especially these ones we call our daddies,” he said.

Also, Pastor Giwa in his reaction claimed that the pastors refused to attend the funeral because they hated Joshua.

According to Giwa, Joshua, during his lifetime never compromised his calling for anything, hence the reason the pastors hated him. He further stated that Joshua refused to join the league of the pastors by not buying ‘private jets’, ‘buying private universities’.

This was contained in a statement issued by the pastor.

The statement reads, “When he was alive, Prophet TB Joshua was surrounded by friends than enemies. Even in death, the prophet still had more friends than enemies. Those celebrating him after death are more than those who are criticizing him. He had come, seen, and conquered.

“He had money to buy more than 10 private jets, but he never bought one. Prophet Joshua could afford to build private universities across Nigeria and the world, but he didn’t have one.

“They hated him because he refused to join their caucuses or leagues. Maybe if he had succumbed and did what they wanted him to do, they would have honored him as one of them.

“A man who never had a spiritual father(s), but suddenly rose to fame. He never thought of opening another branch of his church in America, London or anywhere in the world aside the one at Ikotun Egbe in Lagos, Nigeria. TB Joshua had a humble and submissive heart.

”God doesn’t look at the outward appearance but looks at the heart. No matter how powerful and strong you are, death is inevitable. If God is for you, who can be against you?

”The media only cares about the so-called top men of God who didn’t send their greetings or attended the burial ceremony. Even the Jews, up till now still don’t believe in Jesus Christ.

”Also, in Nazareth where Jesus grew up, they refused to believe in his teaching because they considered him one of them, therefore without the authority to preach to them. Are you God who sees the innermost thoughts, feelings, or secrets of others?

”First, take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Whatever you have here on earth won’t go with you after death. We came with nothing and go with nothing.” Giwa said.
