  • Insists She Killed Ataga Alone

Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300-Level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), who allegedly murdered the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Super TV, Mr. Usifo Ataga, in a service apartment in the Lekki area of Lagos State, has disclosed that she has been seeing her victim’s face in her dream.

While making more revelations about the murder of Ataga, Chidinma stated that she regretted killing her supposed secret lover, adding that she has been begging God for forgiveness.

The New Diplomat had reported that Chidinma, 21, confessed to how she stabbed Ataga to death while the duo were lodged in a service apartment located in Lekki-Lagos.

Chidinma had during her confession while being paraded by the Lagos Police Command, stated that she and the deceased were smoking and drinking before an argument ensued, which made her stabbed Ataga twice in the neck.

Chidinma, who has tendered an open apology to the family of her victim has again pleaded with the family to forgive her for killing their son.

In her words: “I have never had peace since the day I was arrested. Never in my wildest imagination did I envisage I would kill a human being. I see his face in my dream every night. At times I would be scared to sleep.

“I have been begging God for forgiveness. This is not what I wanted for myself. I don’t know what fate holds for me.

“I am also begging his family to forgive me, especially his children. Ah! God, what have I done?” she exclaimed, burying her face in her palms.

Speaking further, Chidinma, while talking to detectives at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, Lago State, Tuesday, maintained that she killed Ataga alone.

Meanwhile, as the death of Ataga continues to stir endless debates, The New Diplomat had reported that the family of the deceased had claimed that their son was assaulted and tortured to death after being gagged.

The claim marked a twist to the confession earlier made by Chidinma, which she reiterated again on Tuesday.

According to the deceased’s elder brother, Dr. Isi Ataga, the Super TV CEO was stabbed multiple times, while his neck was broken. He further added that the family believes that there were more people involved in the murder, claiming that rope marks were seen on his wrist.

Isi also said that the marks seen on his wrist suggested that he was tied down before being tortured, alleging that only Chidinma could not have done that.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old has revealed that she murdered Ataga while he was at his weakest point.

According to her, the late Super TV CEO became weak after taking three wraps of Rohypnol while she took one wrap. She stated that she strangled Ataga before stabbing him in the neck.

Also, Chidinma has confessed that an alleged drug addict and internet fraudster (name withheld) assisted her in falsifying the deceased’s documents.

Recall that the prime suspect during her bold face confession revealed that she withdrew a sum of N380,000 from the deceased’s account to pay her school fees.

However, Chidinma has now disclosed that the deceased earlier gave her his Automated Teller Machine, ATM, card to withdraw some money to buy some clothes but that she did not withdraw much.

Thereafter, she said she contacted the internet fraudster to help her withdraw more money.

Meanwhile, sources disclosed that the alleged internet fraudster was still being trailed as of press time to explain his role in the tragic murder of Ataga, as well as his connection with the prime suspect, Chidinma.
