The remains of late Mrs. Felicia Ohadiugha, the mother of the Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States (U.S), Ambassador Uzoma Emenike, on Saturday, was committed to mother earth in Abia state.
The Nigerian envoy, alongside her siblings gave their mother a befitting mass burial ceremony as the creme-de-la-creme of the society graced the event.
Governors who attended the burial include: Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Hope Uzodinma of Imo and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe.
Other prominent Nigerians at the event are the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Chief Uche Ogah, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Silva, and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Abia, among others.
The deceased was interred in her family house at Umule located in Umuahia North Local Government Area (LGA) of Abia State.
Present at a requiem mass which held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Umule, were the Bishop of Umuahia Catholic Diocese, Most Rev. Lucius Ugorji, alongside 17 other priests from the diocese to commiserate with the family of the deceased.
Speaking at the requiem mass, Rev. Fr. Sylvester Anyanwu, admonished the family of the deceased to take solace in God who created the heavens and the earth.
Anyanwu, who is the Parish Priest of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, advised the congregation to endeavour to live a righteous life.
According to him, “death is real and there is heaven and hell.
“Mama’s death has brought all of us from different parts of the country to Umule and we are again reminded that death is real.
“Let us endeavour to live a righteous life and avoid sin, which brought death to the world. At our individual levels, we believe there is heaven and hell, but are we prepared for heaven? This world is not our own. We came with nothing and shall leave with nothing.
“Whoever you are, whatever you are and wherever you are embrace God and realise that one day we shall all leave this world.
In his vote of thanks, the first son of the deceased, Mr Chukwuemeka Ohadiugha, described the late nonegenarian as God-fearing, peace-loving, and a devoted Catholic and community leader.
