Evelyn Joshua, the wife of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Joshua, popularly known as T.B. Joshua, on Wednesday, has stated that the demise of her husband was not a surprise to her.

According to Evelyn, the death of her husband was an act of God.

On Wednesday, the wife of the late televangelist received a delegation from the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at her residence in Ikotun area of Lagos State.

The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi.

Speaking during the visit, Evelyn stated that the demise of her husband was the will of God.

Joshua’s wife also appealed to Sanwo-Olu to participate actively in her husband’s burial. She added that the burial arrangements will be communicated very soon.

In her words, “What happened was an act of God. There is time for everything, like my husband would say. That was the word I knew from him very well. This is the job he was known for. This is what he was living for. That is what he was going to die for. So, it didn’t come to me as a surprise. I wasn’t surprised when it happened. As we all know, he was in service that day. So, that’s it.”

Speaking, Elegushi commiserated with the wife, praying that God will give her the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his words, “We are here on the directive of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to pay a condolence visit and offer prayers to the family of our beloved pastor and prophet TB Joshua.”

The New Diplomat had reported that T.B. Joshua, who hailed from Arigidi located in Akoko North West Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, passed away in the late hours of Saturday.

Although, the cause of his death still remains sketchy as of press time, however, a family source who spoke with newsmen had disclosed that the pastor was ill two days before his demise.

According to the family source, T.B. Joshua was being conveyed to the hospital after conducting a service in his church when he passed away.

Also, Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had revealed that the televangelist left the church service he was conducting for his apartment, after he felt a bit uncomfortable before he was rushed to the hospital.

According to Odumosu’s account, he was confirmed dead by doctors around 3.00am on Sunday.
