Tension has escalated in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State over the huge presence of security operatives at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.

This development is coming after a group of agitators scheduled to hold a Yoruba Nation Mega Rally at the venue.

The organisers had announced the launching of the Yoruba Nation rally in Osogbo. According to the organisers, the essence of the rally is to sensitise the Yoruba people on the need to join the agitation of the actualisation of the Yoruba Nation.

However, ahead of the rally, security operatives laid seige to the proposed venue, thereby stopping the agitators from holding the proposed rally at the venue.

The men of the Nigeria Police Force(NPF);  men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC); the Amotekun Corps; and Local Vigilantes were all seen at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, and its environ.

The New Diplomat also gathered the development couldn’t stop the determined agitators as they changed the venue for convergence.

The agitators are currently regrouping under the November 27 Bridge along Osogbo/Gbongan Road, Osogbo, as of press time.

The agitators carried placards, banners chanting secession songs and distributing handbills to people along the streets.
