President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday celebrated the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Networks, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya.

Buhari in his congratulatory message released by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina stated that with Ogunsanya’s appointment as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Networks Limited, he has proudly hoisted the flag of Nigeria across the African skyline.

Going further, President Buhari said the appointment of the 1987 graduate of Electrical and Electronics from Obafemi Awolowo University has once again proven that Nigeria has a surfeit of quality professionals, who can hold their own in any part of the continent, and even beyond.

Moreover, he added that with cognate experience of the new MD/CEO for Africa, which spans consulting, banking, fast moving consumer goods, and telecommunications, Mr Ogunsanya would creditably perform in his new role, and repeat the strides that made him position Airtel Nigeria as the second largest telecommunications company by revenue, serving over 50 million customers.

In addition, President Buhari urges young Nigerians to draw inspiration from Ogunsanya, by staying focus and hard work which would make them reach the peak of whatever career they have chosen for themselves.

According to the President, “The reward for hard work is more work,” thereby wishing Ogunsanya greater successes ahead.” He added.

Ogunsanya, the new Chief Executive Officer, an electronics Engineer and Chartered accountant, had joined the board of Airtel Africa Plc on October 1, 2021.
