The Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu on Wednesday said he has recieved information that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is planning to raid an apartment in Enugu allegedly belonging to him on the guess of whistle blowing policy.
The Deputy Senate President stated this during plenary on Wednesday. He said the disturbing information he recieved further stated that agency plan to carry out the operation with media and display some foreign currency with other documents as items recovered during the raid.
“I received a very disturbing information and I want to share it with other members of this Senate. That on the 6th of May, the EFCC will raid an apartment in Enugu allegedly belonging to Deputy Senate President on the guess of whistle blowing policy.
‘That the agency plan to display huge amount of money in dollars, Rand’s and Indian rupes with other documents related to 2015 election and skills acquisition programme as items recovered” Ekweremadu said.
He added that the information he received stated that he would be invited for questionning and some protesters would be hire to stage protest against him.
