Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lee Engineering and Construction Company Limited, Chief Dr. Leemon Ikpea (the Odonlagbon of Warri Kingdom, Delta State) has been honoured with an award of excellence and recognition by Jabulani Empowerment Network, Canada (JEN Canada).

JEN Canada, an advocacy and social development organization bestowed the business mogul with the prestigious award for his excellent leadership skills and milestone achievements.

The award is to appreciate Chief Ikpea, who is also the founder of the Agbonjagwe Leemon Ikpea Foundation (ALIF), for his philanthropic efforts towards the upliftment of youths and women in the South South region.

This was disclosed in a letter signed by Director, External Communications (Africa), JEN Canada, Felix Igwenagu, made available to The New Diplomat.

JEN Canada provides platform for youths of African descent to actualize their dreams in Canada and also offers financial and moral support for African youths in Canada.

The organization commended the oil magnate and philanthropist for his efforts in developing the economy and infrastructure of the South South geopolitical region and Nigeria at large, through the execution of major philanthropic projects for youths and rural women.

The letter partly reads, “The board and management of Jabulani Empowerment Network, fecilitates with you and the management of the Agbonjagwe Leemon Ikpea Foundation (ALIF), for your excellent leadership and veritable milestone achievements in the areas of youth, widows and indigent rural women. The effects of your contribution and support to infrastructural development in rural communities in Nigeria’s South-South region have reverberated across the nation and indeed the international community and deserves the recognition that this award provides.

“This award is an endorsement of the strategic implementation of ALIF’s youth employment initiative through the coordinated skills acquisition programs offered to indigent youth in rural communities in South-South Nigeria.

“We applaud you for your exceptional leadership in this regard. Congratulations on receiving this award,” JEN Canada added.

Billionaire Ikpea’s Lee Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd. is a high-level service provider in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operation and Maintenance (EPCOM) with over 30 years of experience in the oil, gas and power sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Incorporated in 1991, the multinational company expanded its scope of operations in 2007 to include maintenance and attainment of optimal performance in the operations and maintenance of Oil Mining Lease (OML) 34.

The company led by the media-shy Billionaire, Chief Ikpea is also into refinery construction. Lee Engineering and Construction Group is currently setting up its world-class machinery to go into farming and aviation.

To advance charitable causes, Ikpea in 2012, founded the Agbonjagwe Leemon Ikpea Foundation (ALIF), which has been benefitting humanity through charitable acts like the award of scholarships to indigent students and youths including orphans.

Through the foundation, the Lee Engineering boss has donated heavily to several educational institutions and social welfare programmes all round the country and also touched the lives of many women and other members of the general public. This, he has continued to do without any attempt to hug the news headlines despite the stupendous resources at his disposal to do so.
