American rapper, Robert Ross, popularly known as Black Rob has passed away at the age of 51.

Rob, who was a member of Bad Boy Records, reportedly died at an Atlanta Hospital.

Marlo Winas, an American Singer and Songwriter, has also confirmed the demise of the American rapper.

Winas took to his official Instagram account to mourn the death of Rob.

According to him, Rob’s death “has left the Hip Hop community more pain after DMX’s passing.”

“This hit my heart……we will NEVER forget you brother! RIP BLACK ROB!” Winas captioned a picture of Rob he posted on his Instagram account.

Rob’s death comes a week after the death of US rap legend, Earl Simmons, otherwise known as DMX.

The cause of Rob’s death has not been disclosed, as of press time.

However, he had reportedly suffered strokes four times since 2015 and has been battling kidney failure for some years.

Rob was born on July 12, 1969. He began his music career at the age of 11. He joined the Bad Boy label in 1996. He released his debut album in 1999, titled “Life Story”.

Rob gained prominence in 2000 with his single “Whoa!”. The single became an instant hit and one of his biggest single he released. The song peaked at number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2006, Rob was sentenced to seven years in prison. He was convicted of grand larceny, an incident which happened in 2004. The rapper was caught in illegal possession of a jewelry worth of $6,000.

However, he was released from prison in May 2010.
