Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected kidnappers who fled from Ibadan to Lagos after kidnapping a lady and collecting N3 million ransom.

The kidnappers, Adekunle Funsho (31), Charles Ezeilo (32) and Obioha Nnaji were heading to Lagos with the victim’s Toyota Highlander but were arrested in Abule-Egba following a tip-off.

RRS officials, based on intelligence information, tracked the vehicle to Africa Shrine in Ikeja, and subsequently to a compound in Abule-Egba, Lagos where a suspect was arrested and a Toyota Highlander, 2005 model with the registration number LND 954 EE was recovered.

The apprehended suspect gave the Police vital information that led to the arrest of another member of the gang at the Africa Shrine in Ikeja.

According to one of the arrested suspects, Adekunle Funsho, a fashion designer resident in Ibadan, “Theophilus handed over the car to me in Ibadan and told me to look for a buyer for the car. I brought the car to Lagos because I know that I would get a buyer quickly for the car. The instruction from him was that I sell the Highlander at N800, 000”.

Foluso said he got the car sold to an individual who had purchased a car from him on a previous occasion in Ondo State.

Meanwhile, another suspect simply identified as Theophilus is on the run and the case has been handed over the Oyo State Anti – kidnapping team for further investigations.
