The fight against corruption, economic and corruption fight is receiving a boost as Nigerian women in the South Western states will on Wednesday converge in Lagos to strategize on the fight against corruption.
The meeting which will take place at The Haven, beside Arch Bishop Vinning Memorial Church, Cathedral, Fajuyi Way, GRA, Lagos is following the flag-off of the programme by the Wife of the Nigeria President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari.
According to the acting Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu, the programme was borne out of its desire to collaborate with women, Office of the Wives of the State Governors in the South West and the Commission for Women Affairs which will put the meeting in a favorable light among the women folks.
Magu said that engaging women in a sustainable fight against corruption to achieve attitudinal change cannot be overemphasized as they are the nurturers of family and moulders of destinies.
The event will also discuss among others, Women’s Declaration against corruption, development of women -focused anti-corruption programme, enhancement of women’s role as anti-corruption watchdogs, whistle blowers and foot soldiers.
